Julie is regularly employed by various orchestras to deliver their education projects and also freelances with her own workshops.

Here are brief descriptions of some of the projects Julie has been involved in:

Create a Concerto (Nov '09) - working with students from Chew Valley School and Backwell School, Julie, Jason Thornton and pianist David Quigley facilitated the composition of a piano concerto over 5 days. Click here to hear excerpts from the performance.

European Union Chamber Orchestra (July '09) - a week-long residency at Sea Mills School creating music with mainstream and special needs children. Click here to see some photos.

Emerald Ensemble (June '09) - 5 days to create a piece based on Elgar's Enigma Variations with Sefton Park Primary School for the High Sheriff's Gala Concert

Bath Mozartfest (Nov '08) - 6 days to create a piano concerto. Working with students from 2 secondary schools and visitors from Hungary, the group created and performed a 30min piano concerto - standing ovation at performance!!!

European Union Chamber Orchestra - Thaxted Festival (June '08) 5 day residency in Dunmow with class of yr 6 children creating music based on Life In Dunmow

Bath Philharmonia - Kaposvar, Hungary (March '08) 4 day residency working with mainstream young people to create original compositions using non-conventional playing techniques. Also worked with special needs children and adults. Trained Hungarian staff to work with creative composition methods. Click here to see some photos from this event

London Mozart Players - Hayle, Cornwall (Feb '07) Working with KS3 & 4 young people to compose 30 mins music without notation

WEPO - Bristol area ('06 -'09) large-scale projects with many schools involved delivering orchestral intrduction, listening skillls and creative music. Also Side-by-Side project with Independent and State schools together. Click here to see photos from these concerts.

Merlin Theatre - Frome ('07) Collaboration between Frome Community College and Critchell Special School. Using dance, visual art, live music and Soundbeam (operated by Phil Heeley)to create extravaganza to much critical acclaim!

Roseland Festival/Bath Philharmonia - March ('07) Worked wth yr 6 pupils from 6 different primary schools together with KS3 pupils as mentors to create groove-based compositions
